With the breakaway chain inheriting Bitcoin’s mining difficulty but offering no established market value, its difficulty adjustment could be more than six years away.

A possible Bitcoin chain split tied to BIP-110 could leave holders with mirrored balances on two networks, but attempting to sell the forked coins may expose real BTC to replay attacks. Developers say users who do not know how to separate coins may be safer doing nothing until replay risk is reduced.
