Bitcoin slipped as corporate treasury activity and miner sales added pressure to a market already locked in a narrow range. The shift is reviving debate over whether BTC is moving away from corporate balance sheets and back toward retail-driven ownership.

Grayscale has withdrawn proposed ETF registrations tied to Cardano, Polkadot and Hedera after telling the SEC it no longer intends to proceed with the planned offerings. The withdrawals were sponsor initiated, not SEC rejections, and no securities were issued or sold.

A broad crypto consolidation is accelerating as more than 100 projects shut down, file for bankruptcy or go permanently dark in 2026. The pressure is hitting layer 2 networks, DeFi protocols, tooling startups and exchanges as token treasuries shrink and hacks become harder to survive.
