Spark has shelved its consumer app indefinitely and is positioning itself as a backend liquidity layer for fintechs, exchanges and stablecoin issuers. The pivot comes as stablecoin markets splinter across competing tokens and networks, creating demand for infrastructure that can connect fragmented liquidity.

A large share of tracked DeFi liquidity was not fully active during the first half of 2026, limiting fee generation and market depth across leading decentralized exchanges. The findings highlight how concentrated liquidity can boost efficiency when managed well, but leave capital idle when price ranges go unattended.
