August Natural GAS Futures

Natural gas futures are holding near key technical support as traders await the latest EIA inventory reading. Strong production, soft consumption and elevated inventories continue to favor sellers, though European LNG demand remains a potential bullish wildcard.

Natural gas futures remained on the defensive as a large storage build outweighed strong summer cooling demand and firm LNG feedgas flows. Market participants continue to see production near record levels as the central reason weather-driven demand has not tightened the balance enough.
