BlackRock’s work with Ondo Finance is drawing attention to a shift from tokenized single assets toward tokenized investment strategies. The approach could make portfolios more transferable, programmable and adaptable as blockchain-based market infrastructure develops.

A Broadridge survey of North American financial services executives shows tokenization has moved from experimentation toward strategic planning across Wall Street. Firms are largely preparing for hybrid market infrastructure where digital tokens and traditional assets coexist rather than a fully onchain replacement of existing systems.

Ondo Finance has launched what it says is the first implementation of the SEC’s third-party custodial tokenization model. The rollout begins with BlackRock’s IVV ETF and Micron shares under a U.S. market framework.
