A long-undetected XRP Ledger flaw could have theoretically allowed attackers to create billions of XRP, threatening the network’s fixed supply model. The XRP Ledger Foundation said the bug remained hidden because normal user activity never came close to triggering the conditions required for exploitation.

Ethereum Foundation developers used coordinated AI agents to probe the network’s gossipsub messaging layer and identified a remotely triggerable crash vulnerability that could take validator nodes offline. The work also highlighted a major challenge for blockchain security teams: AI can produce convincing bug reports that still require rigorous human validation.
