Trent Van Epps says Ethereum’s shift toward decentralization is entering a critical phase as the Foundation reduces its central role. He argues the network needs new institutions to fund public goods and core development.

A new Ethereum governance proposal would let validators direct part of their staking rewards to ecosystem infrastructure and public goods. If approved by a majority, the contribution could become mandatory for all validators.
