Tokenized Funds

S&P Global has agreed to acquire OpenZeppelin, a smart contract security firm whose open source library has supported more than $37 trillion in cumulative digital asset transfers. The move extends S&P Global’s digital asset coverage from creditworthiness and reserves into the code security behind stablecoins, tokenized funds and DeFi products.

BNY is adding blockchain rails to its transfer agency business, creating an on chain ownership record for tokenized funds while maintaining existing infrastructure. Clients including Baillie Gifford, BlackRock and BNY’s Dreyfus unit are expected to use the service for tokenized fund products.
