Bitcoin Core 32.0 entered final testing on Sept. 14, with a finished release scheduled for Oct. 10. The update targets fee estimation, block processing, wallet transaction formatting and security fixes while leaving Bitcoin’s consensus rules unchanged.

Roughly $16.69 billion has been lost to crypto hacks, and investigators say stolen private keys account for about 40% of that total. The industry is now leaning on multi-party computation, account abstraction, and tighter operational controls to reduce single-point failure risk.

SecondFi confirmed three external attacks that drained 16 million ADA from 374 wallets through a flaw in its wallet generation software. The team says it secured another 129 million ADA before attackers could reach it, but losses could still exceed $20 million.
