Frame Transactions

Ethereum and Coinbase backed Base have stopped efforts to merge their next generation wallet standards after months of discussions. The decision leaves cross network wallets and apps preparing to support EIP 8141 on Ethereum and EIP 8130 on Base.

Ethereum developers are narrowing the candidate list for Hegotá, a major upgrade expected to ship in 2027. Among the 66 proposals under review is Frame Transactions, a package designed to reduce the outside infrastructure needed for private payment applications while keeping ordinary ETH transfers transparent.
